Piercing
Aftercare
Guide
If you suspect for any reason that your Piercing may be infected, contact your doctor at the first sign of infection. Then, contact your Body artist so that we may keep a record of the incident.
Keep your piercing as clean as possible.
Never touch your new piercing with dirty hands. Wash your hands, then wash your piercing. Gentle, castile soap is the best choice. Antibacterial soap will also work but can be harsh on the skin.
Cleanse the piercing using soap, warm water, and a Q-tip. Cleanse the front and back of the piercing gently. Then, dry the piercing with a clean paper towel or Q-tip.
Wash your piercing at least three times per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) until healed. You may need to wash more frequently if you engage in activities that cause sweating.
Avoid touching or twisting your new piercing.
When you touch and twist your piercing, you are damaging the healing skin cells and disrupting the healing process.
Moisturize your piercing daily.
We recommend Emu Oil to moisturize your piercing. Emu oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce redness and swelling, as well as prevent scarring during healing.
You can also put this on your healed piercing and use this as a lubricant for jewelry.
If you need help changing your jewelry, come back to us. We are happy to help.
Avoid submerging nipple and navel piercings in bodies of water for at least 3 to 4 months. Also, beware of snagging on towels and loofahs.
All piercings and wearers are unique and may take more time to heal than anticipated. Don't rush the process.
